Atawhenua Experience

2 days spent on some dream-water in what we call our back yard and you get an experience that makes you smile as if it was yesterday that we were standing in gin clear water, watching wild trout feeding as if nothing else mattered. The privilage of seeing a rare blue duck (whio) and listening to it’s unique call, while listening to the sound of waterfalls and running water…. I think you get the picture….

If you want to see some of this country and cast at some wild Rainbow and Brown Trout and have an experience of a life time then best you get in touch with us.

Shane, Craig and Wendy are already thinking about the next mission, and Gordy and i know exactly where we will be going… somewhere in what we call our back yard.

FIORDLAND

This pool held 4 great fish!! Anyone want to go??

  1. “Fly Fishing Dream in Fiordland”
Our guides were extremely knowledgeable about the area and their fly fishing skills were spot on. We fishing in turn and every fish and battle was shared and enjoyable by all. The fish were all of good size, 3.5lb and up. Lots of fiest and the colours were strong and beautiful (the best I have ever seen) as they streaked through the crystal waters. Gordy and Hen could share and teach us so much about all aspects of our surroundings – the snow capped mountains, the moss draped trees, the sound of the river, the blue ducks, the wicka and the rocks of ages. I will never forget the crunch of the rocks under our feet as we stalked our next resident trout of the river. We crossed the river many times and Hen and Gordy ensured our safety at all times. They were very mindful of everyone’s welfare at all times. It was very special to be in such talented, caring and professional company. Many thanks to Craig for making the adventure possible – for his killer flies. To my Hardy Princess reel and to Shane, Gordy and Hen for being such fun company, sharing the dream – a truly worth well experience. We all learnt so much about ourselves, flyfishing and Fiordland’s magical energy.
    Much love and gratitude
