Ive driven the Glenorchy road a few times, and everytime it is different. Driving to and from the rivers around here is half the fun, people often ask me if i get bored of it all….
I probably use my camera more then some of the visitors do..

Mark La Noue, out visiting N.Z for the first time from Portland (Oregon) and i paid a visit to a river south of Queenstown and introduced ourselves to some local trout.
The drive reminded Mark of some places in the states, and the fact that he grew up in Denver Colarado made him feel pretty much at home hanging out in Queenstown for a few days.
The sky was blue, however the wind was head on and punchy. Armed with his Sage #6 Mark was able to deliver the right casts to get connected with some brown and rainbow trout.
We were well rewarded putting some fish to the net, but had a solid walk to contend with. Was it worth it……………
You bet it was…………………….

Leo and Marcy, love the great outdoors and made a special trip to New Zealand to fulfill a life long dream to see what it really is like?
We made a flight into one of the most beautiful valleys you could imagine, chasing deer, landing on top of a mountain peak along the way, and then landing beside a dream-river to spend the day sighting and fishing to wild rainbow and brown trout.
I have a funny feeling that this was the first of many visits to Queenstown and N.Z, and am looking forward to sharing it all again…………………….. Henare

We went to one of those places that makes you feel like you are the only people on the planet. A place where you can drink straight out of the river, and the pools are crystal clear and i think the trout call it Trout Paradise. We went to one of those places not far away from Queenstown and hung out with Loren & Jenaya. We cast to some Rainbows, hooked a couple and pretty much had a magical day that will be hard to forget. Thats what you do when you are in the Wakatipu Basin, hang out and enjoy what we have in our BACK YARD………..

The Weather could not have been better, we lifted off at 8.15am from Alpine choppers and headed into Milford Sound via some magic spots, a scenic over dose really!! After a 2 hour boat cruise we flew over lots of dream-water, parked on a mountain over looking Glenorchy and Lake Wakatipu and had some lunch, played some guitar, enjoyed the magic views then dopped down onto a river and cast and caught some local trout. First time on a fly Rod for both Nev & Jenny and they both got fish to the net!! That is awesome!!! Flew back to Queenstown and had a speights on the way and landed at 6.15pm.
That was Valentines Day 2009, a day to remember for sure!! Take a look at the photos and see for yourself, every day is a valentines day we reckon………….

We climbed aboard Alpine choppers with Stefan and headed across the lake to see what was going on. The weather was about perfect for doing anything outdoors.
With a river that was crystal clear and trout that were willing to take a dry fly with the right presentation, we had an entertaining day to remember. Noels even found time to take a wee knap on the path beside the river.
That is a pretty priceless day to be having, i’m sure we will be giving it another go sometime soon………….

Brian and Mick make me appreciate the abundance of crystal clear water that we have here in N.Z!! We managed 2 days of fishing around Queenstown while they were here holidaying with family friends The Cole family.
Arriving in Queenstown with new fly rods and ready to use them for the first time we chose our days and went out for some fishing. These guys enjoy every moment of the day, taking in the awesome scenery and amazed at the amount of fresh cold water that flows down our rivers.
www.savethemurray.com is something that is close to Micks heart as he and thousands of others are directly effected by the Murray River. Do some research for yourself and learn about what is going on with the worlds 14th longest river and show your support.
In the mean time come and see what we have to offer with some of the clearest trout filled rivers in the world……. Dream-waters is what we call it…………
